JW Promotions are delighted to finally see an ambition become a reality by staging the “UTV Country Music Festival” that will take place in Dungannon Park, Co.Tyrone on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August 2008. The festival will see over 50 International, National and local acts perform on three stages and will run each day from 1pm-11pm. Country Music has a huge following in Ireland and the announcement of such an event of this magnitude will be very well received. The main stage will see most of the American acts perform with the likes of George Jones, Ricky Skaggs, Nanci Griffith, Gene Watson and Vernon Oxford to name  only a few that will enthral the large expected audiences on each of the festival days.

After appearing at the “ UTV Country-Fest” Nanci Griffith has confirmed to do shows on the 5th August in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny. Whether performing her own poetically evocative material or the compositions of her influences, friends, and peers, Nanci Griffith possesses a powerful gift for inhabiting the songs she sings - for communicating unspoken intimacy and heartache through her tender voice and lilting, delicate phrasing.         Deirdre Bonner will support Nanci Griffith in the Letterkenny show.

 Nanci Griffith has confirmed she will be here with us for a two shows in February 2009.

Bagatelle have just finished a very successful theatre tour of Northern Ireland which was a sell-out at every show. Bagatelle 30th Anniversary Concert tour dates for April 2009 have just been released.

Bagatelle are the band, who brought us such memorable hits throughout the years as:  " Summer in Dublin", "Second Violin", "Love is the Reason" and "Leeson Street Lady" are still playing to packed houses, with record sell out crowds at nearly every live performance over the past few years.  "Summer in Dublin" was a classic overnight success when it was first released in 1978, and captured the heart of the nation.

JW Promotions are delighted to confirm after years of trying to secure world renowned Guitar Virtuoso and singer Brent Mason he will do a five date tour of Ireland in September. According to many publications Brent has owned country music for over a decade with at least seven out of ten of the songs in the top ten at any given time - not annually - being played on by him since the early nineties. All this talent and hard work have not gone unnoticed. The CMA (Country Music Association) named him “Musician of the Year” for two consecutive years.

JW Promotions have just confirmed Phil Coulter for concerts in November. Regarded as a doyen of the music industry, Phil Coulter has not only weathered just about every change in the business, he has been one of the few songwriters who actually shaped pop history by dictating musical taste and fashions.

Van Morrison once famously described Phil Coulter as Cool Filter. He was right. Phil's music carries the stamp of a master performer, arranger and composer. Ireland's most acclaimed and biggest selling pianist ever.

On tour in November/Decmber the colour and dynamism are the calling cards of the Soweto Gospel Choir, who have swiftly made a splash on their recent visits to Europe. Nothing can really prepare you for the riot of exuberance and depth of emotion emanating from this 24-piece ensemble.

Paul Casey has been confirmed as support for Bonnie Tyler at the show detailed above.

Following the success of his previous three albums, ‘The Other Side’ written in Nashville and recorded back in N.I. was described as ‘Cool country with an edge, blending the old, the new, and the unexplored’. Sugarland have confirmed three dates with JW Promotions for March 2009.

Living through one extraordinary career triumph after the next, Jennifer and Kristian remain sincerely grateful for all the highlights that have come their way. Luan Parle will support Sugarlands 3 Irish dates

Luan has been voted this year's "Best Irish Female Artist" at the 2007 "Meteor music awards". Artists who performed at the awards included the Pussycat Dolls, Kaiser Chiefs, The Feeling and Amy Winehouse. Amongst the other winners were Ireland's all conquering Snow Patrol The award was by public vote.

JW Promotions will tour Pam Tillis in April 2009. No word, real or invented for the occasion, sums up as well where Pam Tillis stands now. She is, after all, a superstar as well as a survivor. A child of Music City royalty and a former rebel, she was determined to find her own way as a singer and songwriter and she succeeded. A CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, she has written songs for some of the top singers in and beyond Nashville, including more than a few of her own hits.

Collin shot to fame with "Love, Me" in 1991. Listeners were so touched that they used its lyrics at funerals and memorial services. That set the cornerstone for a career built on meaningful songs. "Little Rock" was an anthem for the recovery community. "Not That Different" pleaded for tolerance. "In This Life" became a wedding favorite. He won awards for the child-advocacy video "I Think About You."

JW Promotions will tour The Proclaimers again this year, tour details to be announced in coming months.

It’s 18 years since The Proclaimers made their legendary TV debut on The Tube, performing the classic song Letter From America . Back then, the charts were dominated by the likes of Rick Astley and Sinita and the response to Craig and Charlie Reid, two impassioned brothers singing their hearts out in their own accents about serious political issues was extraordinary. The Proclaimers were unlike anything we had seen before and Channel 4’s switchboards jammed with curious callers. It was the beginning of a phenomenon.

All the main stars in the Country Music scene where at the N.I. Country Music Awards in the Tullyglass Hotel, Ballymena. From greats like Philomena Begley, to newcomers like John McNicholl and The Benn Sisters. The audience were treated to fantastic performances from Jimmy Buckley, Louise Morrissey, John McNicholl. Mike Denver flew in via helicopter to pick up his award and perform live

This fantastic third tour show had rave reviews as it featured Country Classics performed by an all-star cast, complete with lavish costume changes and music provided by one of the finest Country groups you will ever listen to. JW Promotions finished a successful run of dates with the world famous Harlem Gospel Choir in 06 and 07 and intend to tour with them again in 2009.

The World famous Harlem Gospel Choir, who sang ‘I still haven¹t found what I¹m looking for’ with Bono on U2¹s ³Rattle and Hum² album, are coming back to Ireland. They return with their thrilling, foot-stomping, hand clapping show of blues, jazz and gospel spirituals and will play various venues nationwide.

After very successful shows JW Promotions will present The Blind Boys of Alabama again in the future.

Formed some six and a half decades ago, The Blind Boys of Alabama are the Iron Men of the music industry. They predate Elvis, Little Richard and Al Green yet even in their 70s they are still at the top of the gospel charts and have won an impressive four consecutive Grammy Awards over the past four years.

JW Promotions and Glenelly “Rockin by the River Festival” at the end of July was a great success. Acts included Mike Denver and his band, More Power to your Elbow, The Miracles  and Jokers Wild.

JW Promotions recently had a successful gig with The Undertones and will present the band at various venues this coming year.

The band reformed in 1999 to play concerts in Derry, replacing singer Feargal Sharkey with Paul McLoone. The band released an album of original material with McLoone in 2003 titled ‘Get What You Need’.
