The initial UTV Country-Fest 2008 saw thousands of people flock to Dungannon Park to see over fifty acts on four live stages passed with tremendous success despite mixed weather conditions. JW Promotions would like to thank all bodies involved making the event the success it was and a special thanks to Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council and UTV for the support they gave.
The Meningitis Trust - Special Country-Fest Double Album CD
A Country-Fest Double Album CD was released in Easter Week in support of the Meningitis Trust in Northern Ireland, all the acts that will be appearing on the UTV-Country Fest have been asked to take part in this project that is expected to raise thousands of pounds for the charity. Interest from the acts not only in Ireland but also stateside has been overwhelming and a huge campaign to get the album into the charts will commence in March. A lot of the artists are dontating a song to the album and a special song titled “The Ties That Bind“ has been penned for all the acts to sing on the CD.

Five Country acts from Ireland will appear at the 2009 CMA Music Festival which will take place on June 11th to 14th, in Downtown Nashville, USA.
Acts confirmed to appear are: Philomena Begley, Louise Morrisey, Stephen Smyth, Eamonn McCann, Aidy Quinn and Warren Smyth.

After great shows this year JW Promotions will tour Pam Tillis in 2010. No word, real or invented for the occasion, sums up as well where Pam Tillis stands now. She is, after all, a superstar as well as a survivor. A child of Music City royalty and a former rebel, she was determined to find her own way as a singer and songwriter and she succeeded. A CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, she has written songs for some of the top singers in and beyond Nashville, including more than a few of her own hits.

A popular live attraction, Elkie Brooks has toured almost every year during her solo career. Her 1982 UK Concert tour was seen by over 140,000 people in just three months. She has performed at every major UK theatre including sell out runs at London's Palladium, Dominion Theatre, Royal Albert Hall, and Wembley Arena. Her success has earned her recognition by the Guinness Book of Records as the most charted British female album artist of the last 30 years. The Pearls album stayed in the charts for an amazing 79 weeks and was still there when her follow-up, Pearls II, charted a year later.

It’s over 18 years since The Proclaimers made their legendary TV debut on The Tube, performing the classic song Letter From America . Back then, the charts were dominated by the likes of Rick Astley and Sinita and the response to Craig and Charlie Reid, two impassioned brothers singing their hearts out in their own accents about serious political issues was extraordinary. The Proclaimers were unlike anything we had seen before and Channel 4’s switchboards jammed with curious callers. It was the beginning of a phenomenon.

Stars Stars - Ireland leading schools talent competition. The show was started by JW Promotions in February 2002 with seventeen schools enrolled to take part in the competition. Since then the competition has grown from strength to strength with over fifty schools taking part in its forth year. In 2009 hundreds of students across Ireland will battle it out for a place in the grand final.
In 2003/04 the word had spread about the Ulster competition and a second show as a separate competition with its own Grand Final and prize fund expanded into Southern Ireland.

George is one of the greatest of American honky tonk singers, but he has also been a victim of its lifestyle. He learned guitar in his youth, and in 1947, was hired by the husband-and-wife duo Eddie And Pearl. This developed into his own radio program and a fellow disc jockey, noting his close-set eyes and upturned nose, nicknamed him "The Possum."
JW Promotion had a great show with Kenny Rodgers in Letterkenny. Kenny Rodgers is one of the most talented artists of all time. A prolific American country music singer, photographer, producer, songwriter, actor and businessman. He has been very successful, charting more than 60 top 40 hit singles across various music genres and topping the country and pop album charts for more than 100 individual weeks in the United States alone. He appeals to all age groups and sells millions of albums.
Gene Watson is a singer in country music's grand tradition & has the skill to give powerful vocal performances and draw all the emotion from his selected material effortlessly. Gene has remained true to his Texas music roots for the best part of 30 years & is a standard bearer for honest, traditional country music.

The Bellamy Brothers are a country music duo composed of two brothers – Howard and David Bellamy – who enjoyed an amazing run of success starting in the mid 1970s. They are the most successful duo in country music history.
Brent Mason has just completed a very successful tour of Ireland with JW Promotions and will re-tour with us in 2009.
According to many publications Brent has owned country music for over a decade with at least seven out of ten of the songs in the top ten at any given time - not annually - being played on by him since the early nineties. The Christmas Electric Hooley was a massive success at the Glenavon Hotel Cookstown and will return on Jan 1st 2010. Line-up will be announced in coming weeks.
JW Promotions host The Electric Hooley at the Glenavon Hotel Cookstown. The initial event took place with a roaring success three live stages were in operation at the same time with six top acts entertaining the sell-out crowd.

Albert is undoubtedly one of the finest guitarists the world has ever seen. Voted Guitar Player Magazine’s “Best Country Guitar Picker” five times, Albert also received two consecutive nominations for a Grammy Award in the Best Instrumental category and in October 1995 received a coveted Gold Badge Award from B.A.S.C.A. (The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors).
Legends of Nashville show featured some of the vocalists and musicians who toured with the Country Legends Show. It featured tributes to legendary artists such as Johnny Cash, George Jones and will also introduce new tributes to Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Also featured where tributes to Dolly Parton, Tammy Waynette, Billy Joe Spears and Patsy Cline.
This two hour show featured 4 vocalists and a live band and re - created the Nashville sound.

All the main stars in the Country Music scene where at the N.I. Country Music Awards in the Tullyglass Hotel, Ballymena. The event highlighted the achievements and
recognised the talents of our countries top country music performers.
There where a number of award categories and on the night various TV personalities hosted the event with a full live band, and live
performances from a selection of the nominees.

The World famous Harlem Gospel Choir, who sang ‘I still haven¹t found what I¹m looking for’ with Bono on U2¹s ³Rattle and Hum² album, are coming back to Ireland. They return with their thrilling, foot-stomping, hand clapping show of blues, jazz and gospel spirituals and will play various venues nationwide.

Formed some six and a half decades ago, The Blind Boys of Alabama are the Iron Men of the music industry. They predate Elvis, Little Richard and Al Green yet even in their 70s they are still at the top of the gospel charts and have won an impressive four consecutive Grammy Awards over the past four years.
